Hey there !

My name is Shivi Garg. I'm a PhD (PMRF) scholar in the department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Ropar. I'm working under the supervision of Dr. Neelkanth Nirmalkar, who is a pioneer of the Nanobubble Technology at IIT Ropar. Hence, my work also revolves around the nanobubble technology. It explores the possibility of producing hydrogen gas using nanobubbles.

All About Me

From the slippers that we wear to the soaps that we use, chair that we sit on, food that we eat are all made of chemicals. My undergraduate classes were full of such talks. I have always wanted to work for the betterment of environment. Subsequent to my undergraduate program, I undertook a Master’s course in Renewable Energy.

Experimental projects fascinate me a lot. And the same can be reflected in my internships and projects that I undertook as a part of the course. As a graduate intern, I worked at IIT- Roorkee, where I got to visualise and apply concepts to the real-life problems. I’ve been fond of academic environment as there I get to challenge my intellect and it gives me an opportunity to pursue my interests in research and development.

The internships that I did during my Bachelor’s have taught me the real meaning of research. My M.Tech thesis has helped me learn, write and publish research papers. The skills that I’ve acquired during my graduate and post graduate years are of vital importance to me. These skills have made me confident about proceeding my career in the academia. PhD is a steppingstone for my goal.
